Smart Dustbin Project – Version 2.0 by Our Student!

One of our brilliant students has developed Version 2 of his Smart Dustbin — a creative innovation designed to make waste disposal effortless and hygienic. This smart bin automatically opens its lid when someone approaches to dump trash and closes on its own when the person steps away. It’s powered by sensors that detect human presence and motion, ensuring a completely touch-free experience. Even more impressive, the dustbin can detect when it’s full and alert the cleaner for timely disposal. This project is a perfect example of how our students at St. Joseph’s Vocational School, Mbarara combine science, creativity, and practical skills to solve real life problems.
