St. Joseph’s Hosts Thrilling Inter House Debate Competitions 2026
On Easter Monday, 6th April 2026, St. Joseph’s Vocational School came alive with intellectual excitement as students participated in the much-anticipated Inter-House Debate Competitions.
Eight houses Eagles, Annex, Leopards, Elephants, Tigers, Lions, Cranes, and Zebras competed fiercely for the prestigious overall trophy, showcasing talent, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
The event officially commenced at 8:00 AM with opening remarks from the Debate Club patron, Mr. Tusiime Alex, who welcomed participants and briefed them on the structure and expectations of the competition.
The competitions were conducted across three engaging categories:
- Debate
- Public Speaking
- Poetry
Each house presented a team of participants in all categories. Notably, Eagles and Lions fielded two debate teams each—Eagles A & B and Lions A & B—adding an extra layer of competition.
Road to the Finals
The contests progressed smoothly throughout the day, culminating in intense semi-final matchups:
- Eagles A vs Eagles B
- Lions A vs Lions B
After compelling performances, Eagles A and Lions B advanced to the final round.
In a thrilling final, Lions B emerged victorious, defeating Eagles A to claim the debate title.
The awarding ceremony recognized the top three performers in each category. Thanks to outstanding performances, including a winning poet and a finalist in public speaking, Lions House secured the overall championship trophy.
As a reward for their exceptional achievement, the winning team was treated to a tea party hosted by the Headmaster.
